I frequently write letters of recommendations for students. Please speak with me about this in person (preferred) or via email (if absolutely necessary).
If I agree to write a letter of recommendation for you, there are certain things that I will need from you:
1.AT LEAST 3 weeks notice before the due date. That means that I have received everything from you at least 3 weeks before it is to be submitted.
4.A copy of your personal statement, if you have written one for graduate school, or a brief paragraph about the job/internship/etc. and why you want it.
5.A list of whether the school/job/internships/etc. require electronic or mailed in letters and their due dates. For those needing them mailed in, I will need an addressed and stamped envelope.
6.A list of the classes you've had with me and during which semesters/years.
7.Let me know any specific or additional information you would like included in the letter.
As a general rule, I will give you a copy of this letter (in pdf format) for your records. However, this copy will not be signed and, therefore, cannot be used as a valid letter of recommendation. If you need more from me, just let me know
